Who we are
FlareBuddy is provided by Velocity Apps LLC. This policy describes the current app and website. It covers information used to provide weather forecasts, keep your symptom journal, and manage subscriptions.
Your journal and preferences
The app stores your check-ins, symptom selections, notes, onboarding answers, saved places, and preferences locally on your device. The current app does not provide a FlareBuddy account or a journal cloud-sync service. Journal entries are not included in the app’s weather or subscription requests.
Local storage is not a separate end-to-end encrypted vault. Your operating system’s device security and backup settings may affect access to or copies of this information.
Location and weather requests
You can search for a place instead of allowing location access. If you choose “Use my location,” the app requests your device’s location permission to find a local forecast. You can revoke permission in your device settings.
Forecast requests send the selected place’s coordinates to Open-Meteo. Place searches send your search text to Open-Meteo’s geocoding service. These services also receive connection information such as your IP address. They process requests under their own privacy policies. The current app does not request continuous background location tracking.
Purchases
Apple or Google processes payment for store subscriptions. FlareBuddy uses RevenueCat to check subscription status and restore access. This involves an app-user identifier and purchase or entitlement information. FlareBuddy does not receive your full payment-card details.
These providers maintain their own records and retention practices. Their policies are available from Apple, Google, and RevenueCat.
Notifications
Check-in reminders are optional and scheduled on your device. You can change notification permissions in your device settings. A reminder may appear on your lock screen depending on your settings.
The website and support
Requests to the website require technical information such as the requested URL and IP address to deliver the page. If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to include and use it to respond. Avoid sending sensitive journal details unless they are necessary for your request.
The current app and website code does not include advertising trackers or sell journal data. Any additional hosting, analytics, or support services introduced at launch will be reflected here.
Your choices and retention
You can manage your entries and saved places in the app. Removing the app’s local data removes its locally stored records; device backups may retain separate copies. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a store subscription. Manage subscriptions through the store where you purchased them.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information we hold, or to object to or restrict certain uses. Contact us to make a request. We cannot retrieve journal records that are stored only on your device. Provider-held payment records are governed by the relevant provider’s retention obligations.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when our information practices change. The date above identifies the latest version. Material changes that require additional notice or permission will be communicated before they take effect.
Contact details will be added before launch. This page is a pre-launch draft.
